Primero Health Celebrating International Women’s Day 2016 and Recognizing Continuing Needs
March is Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day is soon here. Primero Health Inc., a non-profit organization created to encourage healthy initiatives to benefit individuals and families within their communities, will host an open house to inform attendees about their Community Outreach Programs, services that Primero Health and its partners offer to the general public. These services include health screenings, Zumba classes, Diabetes Education, Nutrition and Cooking Classes, Health Insurance enrollment and other health related workshops. These services are offered at no charge.
The personal-finance website, WalletHub, conducted an in-depth analysis of “2016’s Best & Worst States for Women.” In their full report, Texas was #42 (Overall Rank) and the rank for Texas in ‘Women’s Health Care & Safety’ was 39. Primero Health Inc. CEO, Lily Vela stated, “Based on this one analysis, it appears there is still much work to be done with regard to the need for health care, not only for women as noted in this report, but for the overall community. Our plans to expand the programming are on the right track as we seek to aid communities with vulnerable populations that have little to no health care options. We are working with Edward’s Home Health, local community clinics and other partners to increase access to care and health awareness to help individuals take charge of their health.”
